History
- The forerunner of the University of Finance - Marketing (UFM) is the Central School of Pricing Officers (CSPO) in the South, established under Decision No. 210/VGNN-TCD dated September 1st, 1976 of the State Pricing Committee.
- In 1978, the CSPO was transformed into the No 2 School of Pricing in accordance with the Decision No. 175/VGNN-TCCB dated 23 August 1978 by the State Pricing Committee.
- In 1992, the No 2 School of Pricing was renamed as the Vocational School of Marketing under the Decision No. 37/VGNN-TCCB dated March 13, 1992 by the State Pricing Committee.
- In 1994, the Semi-Public College of Marketing was established on the basis of the Vocational School of Marketing under the Government Pricing Committee upon the Decision No. 641/QD-TTg dated November 4, 1994.
- In 2003, the Semi-Public College of Marketing was transferred to the Ministry of Finance under the Decision No. 116/2003/QD-BTC dated 25 July 2003.
- In 2004, the Semi-Public University of Marketing was established on the basis of the Semi-Public College of Marketing under the Decision No. 29/2004/QD-TTg dated 05/03/2004 by the Prime Minister.
- In 2009, the Semi-Public University of Marketing was renamed as the University of Finance – Marketing (UFM) under the Decision No. 395/QD-TTg dated 25/03/2009 of the Prime Minister.
- In 2015, UFM’s pilot project for renewing the operational mechanism for the period of 2015 - 2017 was approved by the Prime Minister according to the Decision No. 378/QD-TTg dated March 23, 2015. Since then the University has become one of the first five public universities to be piloted to reform the operational mechanism under the Government's Resolution No. 77/NQ-CP dated October 24, 2014.
